Tensegrity creates Java Tools for Palo
January 10th, 2006.This web site is dedicated to offer Java tools and applications around the Palo server. The Java platform and the vast offering of free and professional development tools are meanwhile widely spread and accepted as the leading development technology for developing professional enterprise and business applications.
Palo currently comes with an Excel Integration, which provides an excellent user interface for editing Palo Databases and integrating the data into Excel based reports or applications. But Palo is not limited to be used inside Excel. It can also be the multidimensional database used within Java applications or Java technology based web services or portals to create professional business applications.
This initiative will soon offer the Java API's and an interface model to access and model Palo databases. The interfaces will also allow setting and retrieving of Palo data. We will provide JavaDoc documentation and sample code to show the usage of the interfaces.
Based on these interfaces, we will provide tools and applications to model and view Palo databases. This will be achieved by relying on the Eclipse Framework and creating a Palo modelling and viewing Plug In for Eclipse based on SWT. The modelling Plug In will allow graphical modelling of dimensions and cubes by using a tree editor Plug In embedded into the Eclipse Framework.
