Palo Client for the Palo Server up to version 2.5

The Palo Client provides complete modelling and administration capabilities for the Palo Server up to version 2.5.

The database explorer, contained in this application, allows the fast access to all elements of the databases residing in multiple Palo Servers. You can easily manage cubes, dimensions or elements by double clicking on the item in the database explorer using the intuitive screens to edit the database items.

An adhoc browser allows the viewing and editing of cube data. Within this browser or cube editor you can assign dimensions to the vertical or horizontal axes and you are able to nest those. The filter dimensions or slice elements can be selected from the remaining dimensions using tree selection boxes. Often used views can be saved and restored for future use. A favorite view allows an easy access to these views. For the more intuitive editing of rules a new view for editing and creating rules is available within the Palo Client.

The Subset editor allows the dialog based editing and creation of subsets. The editor offers the same subset options as the subsets within the Excel Add-in. They are also saved in the same location on the server. The Client also benefits from the load on demand option of the API. Metadata will only be loaded on demand and cached locally. This approach speeds up the access to large databases.

Another highlight is the access to XMLA databases. If you connect to an XMLA database, you have the same options for viewing OLAP Cubes like with Palo Cubes. XMLA is supported upon other by Microsoft Analysis Services, SAP BW or Mondrian. XMLA based databases can not be modelled within the Palo Client since this is not supported by the XMLA interface.

All Features of the Palo Server up to version 2.5 are supported. The client can run standalone or be integrated into the Eclipse Development Environment.
