Palo for OpenOffice - PalOOCa
Palo for Open Office is an Add In for the spreadsheet OpenOffice.org Calc to administrate the Palo Server and to access data from the Palo cubes and write data back into the Palo cubes. The administrative access to Palo is done via dialogs. The data values from the cubes are fetched with queries made from worksheet formulas, and so is thewrite back functionality working. Palo for OpenOffice uses the Palo Java API for the communication to the Palo server. Palo for OpenOffice supports the Palo versions 2.5 - 3.0. |

Features
Features for the OpenOffice.org Calc are made available via the menu "Palo".
Create view
With the selection of a database and a cube from the Palo Server there are dimensions for selection as a filter and for displaying them into rows and columns. The generated worksheet report is interactive. A double click on a filter elements opens a dialog for selecting these filter. A double click on a row- or column element expands or folds the hierarchy of this element.
Paste elements
Elements from Dimensions are pasted vertical or horizontal on the worksheet.
Paste function
After selection of the server and the database the worksheet function PALO.DATA(...) for fetching the values are pasted on the worksheet. The parameters are predefined with top elements of the respective dimension or with a reference to cells on the worksheet via the functionality guess parameters.
Import data
Imports worksheet data.
Modeller
Opens a dialog to administer the Palo server
- Create and delete databases and cubes.
- Create, edit and delete dimensions, elements and attributes.
- Create, edit and delete roles and configure the rights for these roles.
- Assign roles to user groups.
Create snapshot
Removes specific Palo functions from the worksheet e. g. to pass the worksheet to someone without access to Palo.
