JPalo Products

The following products support users and developers by providing a rich set of features to model and query the OLAP database Palo.

Palo Web Client

Using the Palo Web Client you can create and publish reports on Palo Server data as easy as with the Palo Client. The same adhoc browsing capabilities are available.

The assignment of dimensions to an axis or the nesting of dimension per drag and drop as well as the expansion or collapsing of consolidation hierarchies are supported like in the Palo Client. In addition you can write back data to the Palo Server.

Views can be created, edited and saved. Views created in the Palo Web Client are instantly available within the Palo Client and vice versa.

The Palo Web Client is a zero installation client and does not need any software installation on the client except an internet browser.

The Palo Web Client is an AJAX application and therefore loads only those parts of the data that are necessary for the current view and incrementally fetches additional information. It depends on the installation of a Tomcat Application Server on the web server.

Palo Client Database Explorer
The Palo Client serves as an application to model Palo databases and visualize data that can be queried from a multidimensional Palo database. In addition you can query data from multidimensional databases supporting XMLA like SAP BW, MS SQL Server 2000/2005 and Mondrian.

All Palo objects can easily be created, edited or deleted with the support of intuitive dialogs or screens. An administration tool allows the easy admittance of rights. A graphical dimension viewer displays the consolidation hierarchy. A cube viewer allows adhoc browsing of cubes and performing 'Slice and Dice' operations on the cube.

Beyond the modelling and browsing capabilities you can create, edit and save views, even using dimension filters. This way you can create reports and easily publish them to the Web Client.

The Palo Client is completely developed in Java and therefore runs on different operating systems.

Palo ETL Client

The Palo ETL Client provides the user interface for the creation and editing of Scripts, which configure the Extraction, Transformation and Import mechanisms of the Palo ETL Server. The Palo ETL Server allows the import of data from heterogenous data sources such as relational databases into the Palo Server.

The Palo ETL Client offers the editing of import script section by section. To support the user, comfortable dialogs or editors for the sections are or will be provided. Some of them will be provided with following Milestones. Where a comfortable editor is not available yet, a generic XML Editor can be used to modify a section of the script. In addition you can start jobs and watch the result of the job execution.

The Palo Web Client is an AJAX application and does not need any client software installation except for an internet browser. It does depend on the installation of a Tomcat Application Server on a web server and uses an installed Palo ETL Server.

Palo Java API

Using the Palo Java API, developers have the opportunity to develop Java based rich client applications or Java based web applications in the area of Business Intelligence professionally on their own.

The API offers a class model, where all Palo objects are available for query or manipulation. It is updated regularly with new Palo versions. It also offers some utility API's to work with subsets, views and attributes. In addition it provides the access to multidimensional databases supporting XMLA using the same class model.

The API is accompanied by the JavaDoc documentation and sample code, showing the usage of the API.

The Palo Client and the Palo Web Client use the Palo Java API and therefore secure, that the API is efficient, stable and complete.
